Mozambique
White sandy beaches, crystal clear oceans, waving palm trees, this is Mozambique. A former Portuguese colony this coastal destination is one of Southern Africa’s best kept secrets. With several stunning beaches, coral reefs and archipelagos Mozambique is popular with scuba divers, fisherman and travelers looking to unwind.
Mozambique has a complicated history and with a decades long civil war ending only in 1992 it is a country still finding its feet. However, over the past 15 years tourism has played an instrumental role in the rebuilding of Mozambique’s growing economy and a number of luxury hotels, lodges and villas now dot the pristine archipelagos that lie just off the coast.
While not quite yet a standalone destination Mozambique offers the perfect location for a few days beach break either before or after a safari adventure.
